Snickerdoodles
Today, I’m turning over CookieAisle.com to guest blogger, Cara Putman. — Ty
Cookies! I love cookies. Pull those out and I’ll try to snag one. Chocolate I could do without, but cookies, nope — they’re a weakness.
One of my favorite kinds of cookies since I was a child is snickerdoodles. They have such a funny name, but taste so good. If you’ve never had one, they are similar to a sugar cookie, but not as sweet, and coated with cinnamon and sugar rather than icing. Yum.
And as with many of the things I love, snickerdoodles have appeared in two of my books. In Deadly Exposure (releasing May), a neighbor of the murder victim supplies the heroine Dani Richards with snickerdoodles. Then in Captive Dreams (releasing in September), the heroine and her friends enjoy eating snickerdoodles while working on projects. I guess you could call snickerdoodles my idea of comfort food. The snickerdoodles are yummy, easy to make, and can be dropped rather than rolled in balls. I hope you enjoy trying them!
Linda’s Cookies
“What kind of cookies are these?” my father asked as he tapped the lightly browned baked good against his plate. My little teen-aged heart was crushed.
That hard round cookie-shaped thing he was tapping wasn’t a cookie but my first attempt at making biscuits. My mama had a way with biscuits. I didn’t.
Mama’s hand-formed biscuits would come out like little bits of Southern heaven (mine were like the other place). Every Southern meal had to have some bread in it, you know, or it wasn’t a Southern meal; it was just a snack.
So, in tribute to my mother (and my inspiring daddy), here is my biscuit recipe—the one I use now. Slightly adapted from my friend, the BHG New Cook Book.

Cookies!
Okay, I’m giving fair warning, I’m going to be very silly. I can’t help it, Ty’s blog is so CUTE! Who can resist blogging about COOKIES????
When I first “met” Ty on the internet, she gave a link to her blog CookieAisle.com, and I just about died because it looked so yummy. I also thought she had the most fabulous theme for a blog anybody could come up with. Who doesn’t like cookies?
