Connecting with God | Michelle Sutton

image Michelle, how do you find time to connect with God?

I try to connect first thing in the morning but it’s harder to do in the winter because it’s dark out. I tend to sleep as long as possible and then I’m running to get out the door. I participate in a women’s Bible study and try to read a devotional and some Scripture every day. Our family does a Bible study together once a week.

BOOK REVIEW | The Amazing Bible Factbook for Kids

image The Amazing Bible Factbook for Kids
American Bible Society

The Amazing Bible Factbook for Kids is full of interesting, fun facts about the bible. The book includes factual information about some of the following topics: Angels, Animals, Clothing and Cosmetics, Food, Geography, Health, Heaven, Kids in the Bible, Language, Movies, Music and a ton of other topics.

I really like how the book follows the magazine-style design that you find in many books these days. I’m sure this makes the book even more attractive for an inquisitive youngster. This will surely make a great reference book for family devotion time or individual reading. There are quizzes and puzzles found throughout the book as well.

I don’t usually post Children’s books, but when I received the following book in the mail to review, I was so taken with it, I put other books to the side just to read through it.  While the book says it’s for kids, this full-color fact book kept my attention for quite a few hours.  I must emphasize, in this day and time, there is NO reason what so ever for folks NOT to be able to learn about the Bible. There is some good stuff in the “good book”.

The Amazing Bible Factbook for Kids is an excellent resource to use alongside the bible for understanding – for kids or adults.

Connecting with God | Marilynn Griffith

mgriffith_orange Mary, how do you find time to connect with God?

It’s not easy. My kids wake up ready to roll, so I have to do like Charles Wesley’s mother and throw my apron over my head in the midst of it all sometimes. The Bible says to pray without ceasing, so I try to do that as well as listen to audio sermons on the Internet and praise music while I exercise.

Connecting with God | MaRita Teague

image002 MaRita, how do you find time to connect with God?

Well, with three young boys it’s not something that just happens! I have to set time aside in the early morning or late at night to read scripture. Mornings are the best time, but I have to be honest about not being a morning person. Usually, late at night after my children have gone to sleep, I can meditate on the Word, study, and pray. Most days are so busy, but scheduling quiet time to connect with God is absolutely essential for direction and peace.

Connecting with God | Ginger Garrett

GG_020 Ginger, how do you find time to connect with God?

My husband brings me coffee in bed and I read the Bible while I drink my coffee. I like to read the Bible from cover to cover, although everyone seems to have the same name in the Old Testament. I need very strong coffee to keep everyone straight when I get to 1 and 2 Kings!  I also love to pray and keep a detailed prayer journal. Praying for others is one of my spiritual callings.
