This week our bible study group started a new study. We are using a study written by Lisa Harper called Holding out for a Hero: A New Spin on the Book of Hebrews. Participants will learn how to trust God in tough times, hold onto hope when life is hard, and the importance of running toward God when you feel like running away. As I prepared to teach the study, I explored background information supplied by the author as well as a few sources. Hebrews was written especially for discouraged believers.

I Did Not Laugh

It’s really easy from the standpoint of a reader to judge the characters. If you read quite a bit of fiction or even find yourself engrossed in an exciting television series like Heroes or CSI, you might find yourself judging from afar. Why did the character do that? What was their motivation?

Happy New Year!

TyI’ve been looking forward to 2007 and now it is here! Since it’s a new year, I’ve decide to stop sporting the same old picture on my web site. Last summer, I got my hair chopped off to around my chin. The shorter look has been a blessing to manage, although sometimes I miss the long ponytail I used to sport. New beginnings are good.

I’ve read in a number of places that the number seven means “completion.” This often stems from the bible especially from Genesis. Read more
